Knowing Ammajj – vedantic teachings

Getting to know a pure soul

Swamini Pramananda (affectionately known as Ammaji) is the Spiritual Leader and Visionary behind the organization, Purna Vidya, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

It was a great honor meeting her while I did my first module of yin yoga teacher training in Munich last week. She got invited by Helga Baumgartner (Yin Yoga) and did the five days course analyzing with us the Yoga Sutras. It was such a great pleasure doing this with her as she did an amazing job explaining us the different Sutras and the message behind with so much warmness, humor and knowledge it was easy to follow. Even though the day started early morning I was able to concentrate all day long as the topics just were so interesting. In case you are truly interested in classical Vedanta – try to assist to one of her teachings. I couldn´t imagine a better teacher for the philosophic part of a yoga teacher training. Besides the theoretical part we also did some chanting, daily meditation and one yin practice per day. The week finished with a sacred water workshops were we were able to assist a ceremony in honor of Ganga, the river being unified with the Isar river.

The yin session that day was accompanied by Miriam Burtscher and her singing bowls, I´m so grateful to her taking part and allowing us falling into the sounds. In case you are interested in more, kindly check out her site on Facebook!

All in all an unforgettable week!
